Distinguish volunteers.
During the annual volunteer evening, which fortunately could continue again this year, some volunteers were put in the spotlight. For the volunteer of the year there were 3 candidates who have all been active for years, but have now stopped:
• Wil van de Molengraft, chairman of the children’s carnival working group; the entire working group has stopped due to the changed circumstances under which carnival must be celebrated in the future.
• Lieke Panken, former chairman of Blixemkids, has handed over the baton to Irene op den Buijs.
• Hans van Stippent, former webmaster and ICT specialist, has been succeeded by Jan Willem Kooijmans.
The board thanked these volunteers for their years of dedication and rewarded them with a bunch of flowers and a gift voucher. Since Wil was unable to attend, his wife Peggie did the honors.
The volunteer of the year (member of merit 2022) has become: Lieke Panken. She also received the challenge cup, which can now be kept in her cupboard for a year.
In addition to the volunteer of the year, there was also a special award this year. Some members of the Liveability Team nominated the chairman for the municipal volunteer medal. This has been honored on the basis of his many years of commitment to safety and quality of life in the district. On behalf of the Municipal Executive, Remco van Dooren, councilor and party chairman CDA, presented the volunteer medal to Bert Nieuwenhuis.
