For feeling safe and to prevent sressfull situations.

Are you prepared? Agnes is afraid that nobody will know if anything happened tp her at home. She is alone and doesn’t know many people in the neighbourhood, she has contact with her family but not on a daily basis.

What would happen if she was to fall in her home and became unable to reach her telephone?

Do you recognise this situation?

With the Red Cross contact circle you will not be forgotten. As a member of this group you will be part of a circle of people that keep an eye on each other. You will not just be forgotten.

How does the circle work? The members from a circle that have contact daily with each other and ask if everything is ok, this is mostly by telephone contact but can also be with an sms or an e-mail.

In this way you are not forgotten and you should not find yourself in a situation where you have no way of contacting anybody outside your home. The members of your circle contact each other in the same order so you get contact with the same person.

Do you want to be in a contact circle? Together with people in your neighbourhood , the will put together a contact circle.

If this appeals to you, contact us, we will invite you for a chat and discuss what options are open to you and what the best for you.

Aida underground rubbish containers.

Do you want help stop the rubbish by the containers?

Cure, rubbish manegement company are finding,on a regular basis, filled yellow  rubbish bags containing plastic, tins and drink cartons by the orange containers on the Aida.

These yellow bags are not from Eindhoven and are not meant for our undergound containers.

The bags are to big and do not fit in the shute, if you force them in it can cause a stoppage, this also applies to blue and grey rubbish bags.

As a result of this, the rubbish is left next to the container.

You can help by using the right type of rubbish bags, rubbish bags that are not bigger than 50 L

are perfect and can be bought in any supermarket.

Thankyou for your help!

Neighbourhood Watch Blixembosch.

Neighbourhood  Watch Blixembosch

Firstly Happy new year to everyone!

2020 was a weird year. We, the neighbourhood watch team have continued to walk through our neighbourhood, of course taking the rules from the RIVM into consideration.

In the last year our neighbourhood has been a safe place:

The number of house broken into has dropped(this comes also from the fact that we are all more at home)

The nuisnane and inconvinience caused by the youth has increased from other years, the reason for this is that the youth is bored.

All in all it has been good safe year in our neighbourhood, for facts and numbers for the last year I would point you to our website go to why buurtprevntie and you will find the information.

At the moment the neighbourhood watch team is 56 people strong, and this year we will be, together with the inforcement officers from Eindhoven council and the police keeping our neighbourhood safe.

We are also looking for new active members to join our group. After you have done a evenings training you will receive  a certificate and you will be able to join the neighbourhood watch. The  trainig is done by Eindhoven council, they also pay for the training, the cost to yourself is giving up 1 evening of your time to do the training.

Once you have your certificate, together with your walking buddy, you decide when, where and how often you go out. There is always a minimum of 2 people that walk around the neighbourhood together.

If at all possible we try to team you up with another person from your immediate neighbourhood. Do you maybe want to go out for a trial, to see what is like? That is possible , take up contact at

Of course you can get more information at

Although we have the neighbourhood watch keeping an eye on things it is still important that we all stay alert, our member come across cars that are open and not locked, this also applies to bicycles, do try to prevent this from happening.

The neighbourhood watch is seen all over the neighbourhood and that is fine and safe for everybody and your possesions. If you see anything out of the ordinary then telephone the police on 0800-8844 and report it.

Tips to prevent your house being broken into:

-Make sure your house looks lived in, leave a couple of lights on if you go out in the evening.

-Always lock your doors.

-Close all windows

-Never leave keys on the inside of a lock

-Never leave keys outside under a doormat or flower pot

-Place all ladders and kliko away

-Register you things on STOP HELING APP

Make sure your house is secure by going to , here you can find the fright things to prevent your house being broken in to.

Road sweeping in Blixembosch.

Road sweeping in Blixembosch

To all in the neighbourhood, we do the clearing-up of all the open spaces in your neighbourhood.

Twice a year we come and clear all the roads and this is what we expect when we come to do our work.

It makes our job easier if all cars and caravans etc are not parked on the road or parking spaces, this also enables us to clear any leaves, blossom and weeds at the same time.

This also means that any rubbish left lying around is also at the same time cleared-up.

The more people that participate means that your neighbourhood stays clean and tidy.

I look forward to your help.

Breast cancer Early Warning Scans.

The world stands still when, as a women you, get diagnosed with breast cancer.

Four women from our neighbourhood are part of the foundation YvYa. Marianne van de Sande en Vinuta Hegde are active with the think tank and Barbara Giovagnoli and Marijke de Hullu are committee members.

The foundation YvYa support the development of Early Warning Scans(EWS) for breast cancer. These new scans can detect differences in the breast that could indicate breast cancer, at a very early stage.

This is really neede as ther eare 17,000 new breast cancer diagnoses every year, and 3,000 from these are in young women.

With the EWS women from 16 years of age can be controlled, they do not even have control themselves if there is isomething wrong. The scan can reveal anything  much quiker than the naked eye.

The quicker breast cancer is detected the lower the death rate is and the also less long term damage is done, this is the reasen these four women from blixembosch are doing this.
