A successful 30th Family Spectacle in our beautiful neighborhood.
Despite the gloomy weather forecast, we can once again look back on a fantastic Family Spectacle. The weather affected the activities around the 30th edition on 2 occasions – on Friday, due to rain, the Silent disco, which always takes place in the sundial, was stopped around 9:30 p.m. be cleaned up. Fortunately, both incidents had no further consequences.
The kick-off on Friday at 5.30 pm was for the youngest Blixemboschertjes up to about 8 years old. About 50 children enjoyed the dances during the mini disco. At the same time, long marble runs could be built in the catering tent. For the older youth, the silent disco started around 8 p.m., with plenty of dancing in a quiet environment for spectators. Due to heavy rainfall, it was later moved to the catering tent.
At half past eight the BlixemQuizzz XXL started in the big tent. Our quizmaster Bertie, assisted by 3 jury members, has again succeeded in coming up with suitable questions for all those present in the age group of 20 to 80 years. There were 45 teams of 5 participants registered and the regular reporting of the standings resulted in a pleasant rivalry.
All in all there was a great atmosphere and with a very loud applause the quizmaster was thanked profusely by the participants.
Thanks to the many volunteers, there was service at the table, so that the thirsty among us certainly did not sit dry.
On Saturday, the fun group run of Loopgroep Blixemsnel started, in which at least 44 runners participated. And at 11:00 the Hexathlon started under a nice sun – the competition tracks were built early on, while the area in front of the party tent was soon transformed into a real campsite and each team had its own luggage depot.
The atmosphere was immediately good and 42 teams, ranging in age from 6 to 60 years, did their best to finish first in the various activities. And this under the motto: Glitter and Shine.
Of course, the award ceremony was again very exciting this year and the winners were announced and congratulated under very loud cheers.
The special curry and bratwurst that were barbecued were in great demand. After all, a hexathlon makes you hungry.
And yes, there was also plenty of interest from young and old for the party evening.
The cover band The Recipe played many well-known songs of all times, from pop and rock to contemporary.
The beautiful singers made everyone super enthusiastic and there was plenty of dancing and the atmosphere was fantastic and here too the many volunteers tapped plenty of beers and poured other goodies, so that no one had to suffer thirst on this successful evening.
There was plenty of partying until the wee hours and the next morning there were several tired, but happy faces on the toy market.
Early on, the blankets were spread out on which the surplus toys were displayed so that the cars, stuffed animals, games, etc. changed hands and many happy children went home with their new toys.
There were even more attractions: from a nostalgic carousel and bouncy castle to a pancake tent. At the Blixemkids you could get beautiful glitter tattoos and
at the same time, magician Rinaldo showed his skills, which certainly fascinated the little ones and DéDé Dance Ballet gave wonderful performances. At Joris’s children’s circus you could learn how to juggle, balance or turn plates.
Scouting Wielewaal also provided the baked marshmallows this year and the children could also enjoy a lump of foam in which it was sometimes difficult to keep a close eye on it. Unfortunately, these activities were interrupted quite abruptly by the already announced thunderstorm.
This shower ensured that the tent was completely full where everyone could follow the exciting race in Zandvoort on the big screen and together enjoyed our Max who braved rain and other obstacles to win this race again.
The success of this 30th edition of the Familiespektakel is due to the 116 volunteers who worked very hard to bring about all this beauty. Hats off to these enthusiasts.
The sponsors: Retailers Association Blixembosch, Podiatry Restiau, Baskuul Adviseurs, Schildersbedrijf van Gool, Uitzendbureau Beter Baan, Dukino Business Events, The Sign Crew and Bavaria also made an enormous contribution to this once again wonderful party.
Finally, I would like to report that while cleaning up on Sunday, we came across things here and there that may be missed by one or the other visitor. If you have lost something, send a message to corinnevandenheuvel1964@gmail.com and we can see if the loss
