From the Board
On Saturday, 15 November, the district association held its annual volunteer evening. Unfortunately, attendance was not very high (competition from another party?), but it was still a pleasant evening. A special word of welcome was extended to the board members of the Blixembosch Community Centre Foundation, who will take over the management of Blixems from Lumens as of 1 January 2026. You will hear more about this in the coming period. A warm welcome was also given to the group of expats who have joined together under the name GetHub and regularly organise activities to bring expats and Dutch residents together.
This year, the sports hall was transformed into a casino. All volunteers were able to get acquainted with the world of Roulette and Blackjack. With a free admission ticket, all participants could join the tables and win chips.
During this evening, the volunteer of the year 2025 was also announced: Annemarie van de Ven. She has been active in the neighbourhood for many years and is involved in, among other things: the Liveability Team, neighbourhood watch, the First Aid association, and the Repair Café. She received the rotating trophy with inscription, a gift voucher, and a bouquet of flowers.
